Sleep Paralysis
Sleep Paralysis is a strange phenomen and could be really frightening especially if one does not know what it really is. I wanted to minimize that fear for the viewer by explaining this natural condition and also let them know what the causes and the treatments are.
Additionally, I tried to illustrate the experience and the emotions during Sleep Paralysis as best as I can, so that the viewers who never experienced it could understand how Sleep Paralysis feels like.
Since Sleep Paralysis happens when we sleep, and that is often at night, I used a dark background to symbolize that.
I gave the Sleep Paralysis Monster each time a different appearence, since it is but a hallucination that is closely tied to one's personal experiences, culture and imagination.
One of the goals I set for myself for this project, is to use Transitions more efficiently. So I used different transitions like fade-in/-out, dissolve, dynamic cut… etc.
Another animation technique I used, was the Morph transition like the Linemorph. Which basically means to use a single line and transform it into a different object before turning it back to a line again.
